Pastoral

My Tyndale graduation photo
I have been a pastor for over 25 years, mentoring people from many countries around the world, as a volunteer and in paid full-time positions.

I use the P.A.R. Technique: Problem, Action, Results.

With an open heart and opened hands, while mentoring at a high school to adult students learning to read, a student came to me and quietly said: "I have the time now to continue reading practice so I can read my Bible."

  • My focus was on active listening that built trust and encouragement;
  • I inspired with a positive focus and a pace to match her learning skills;
  • Positive feedback was given with every word and sentence read.
With many weeks of reading-out-loud practice sessions, the lady had a big smile when she read an entire scripture verse flawlessly.

"Let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance."
Proverbs 1:5
